Second study. This time with acrylics.
I try to force myself not to pay attention too much otherwise I get
lost in the details.
Gosh it's hard to go against your natural habits !

Dominique, very good, the way you decided to handle this weeks subject for DSFDF. I'll be honest and tell you I like the Acrylic over the watercolor pencils in this instance. I also want to let you know that your photograph for this piece is very clear! Whatever your doing... just keep on going in that direction.

Dominique, I enjoy both versions for their effects -- the watercolor is airier and more delicate of course -- but as Alice and Vern said, with the acrylics you got some great bold color in those hydrangeas, and you *did* "let go" and allowed yourself some bold strokes and to me it really gives the piece more weight and 3-dimensionality. It's a nice change to see. I have to hand it to you, trying that bowl and the flowers; I was too chicken to try either of those things but you did both very nicely in both your versions.
This acrylic version is nice Dominique. I also do like the lost and found edges in the watercolor version. I hear what your are saying about not wanting to get lost in the details. That is my problem. Your website is wonderful! I'm

Camille, You have to be kidding the statue you did is so much harder to do and the colors you used gives it such richness. Your creativity shines.
Thank you for the encouragement on this project. I like comparing the two to see their differences or were I improved. That's why I like DSFDF.

Not kidding at all, Dominique. To me, the flowers and bowl are harder and more frustrating to try to do. I have neve done flowers and I've tried to do one round object -- that cured me! Seriously! So, kudos to you.
