" Hydrangeas II "

Second study. This time with acrylics.
I try to force myself not to pay attention too much otherwise I get
    lost in the details.
Gosh it's hard to go against your natural habits !

LET GO ! LET GO !  is what I hear.

Dominique, very good, the way you decided to handle this weeks subject for DSFDF. I'll be honest and tell you I like the Acrylic over the watercolor pencils in this instance. I also want to let you know that your photograph for this piece is very clear! Whatever your doing... just keep on going in that direction.

Thanks Alice, Your feedback means a lot to me, for you have a talent that sees trough things. Not just with me.

Hi Dominique, I'm with Alice on this one. Your hydrangeas look great in the acrylic version. Simply painted and believable. You did it!

Thanks Vern, I wish to have your talent one day.

Dominique, I enjoy both versions for their effects -- the watercolor is airier and more delicate of course -- but as Alice and Vern said, with the acrylics you got some great bold color in those hydrangeas, and you *did* "let go" and allowed yourself some bold strokes and to me it really gives the piece more weight and 3-dimensionality. It's a nice change to see. I have to hand it to you, trying that bowl and the flowers; I was too chicken to try either of those things but you did both very nicely in both your versions.

This acrylic version is nice Dominique. I also do like the lost and found edges in the watercolor version. I hear what your are saying about not wanting to get lost in the details. That is my problem. Your website is wonderful! I'm
amazed...your murals are fantastic!

Camille, You have to be kidding the statue you did is so much harder to do and the colors you used gives it such richness. Your creativity shines.
Thank you for the encouragement on this project. I like comparing the two to see their differences or were I improved. That's why I like DSFDF.
Thanks for stopping by.

Not kidding at all, Dominique. To me, the flowers and bowl are harder and more frustrating to try to do. I have neve done flowers and I've tried to do one round object -- that cured me! Seriously! So, kudos to you.
I like this week's boots, did you see?

Hey Camille , Thanks for the reply. I just saw the boots after you told me, I love them. That will be fun.

Both pieces are beautiful Dominique! I'm looking forward to "the boots" too...not sure what I'll do with them yet but I like the subject:)

Thanks Shelley. I have a few ideas for the boots, I guess it will be difficult deciding.

Hi there,
Thanks for your comment on my blog. I actually check in with Candy's blog every once in a while. I know we've probably met over the years, but we're not in the same gallery in Stowe. The world is small, n'est pas? (saw you were fluent in french, my major in College...)Fun to connect with other DSFDF bloggers! Looking forward to the boots..yikes.

Annelein, Thanks for the dropping by and telling me you know Candy. She just texted me yesterday from Florida she's at the Basel Art convention in Miami.
Oui le monde est petit !
I am looking forward to the boots.
