" Pomegranate on a plate "

                                               8.5 x 7 acrylic on  bristol

I don't know if this is finished yet ?  I think it needs a background but I need to see it for a while before deciding.  I've always like these fruits. They have a symbol too but I forgot what it is at this time I'll have to look it up.

OOH LA LAH... I don't know why that sound jumped to the forefront of my brain when I saw this, but there you go. The background is very important. What are you thinking? I always gravitate towards yellow... don't know why and i love the richness of color you have in the pomegranate fruit including that green stem.

I think your right about the Ohlala because I just realized the colors of the plate are very French Country. I'm almost leaning toward a turquoise color for the background ?

You mentioned yellow . do you think that should be the background too ? maybe a tablecloth ? sometimes I get stuck on these choices.
I think I did that with the cow earlier in DSFDF.

Hey Dominique, sorry I have been very busy lately. No, I don't think the background should be yellow. I had to erase my list... it is a great idea for later down the line. I'll have to make up something good. Turquoise sounds great. Have you started on your portrait?

Thanks Alice. It's all good. Yes I started my portrait I finished the sketch but I don't know if I am painting it or just a real good pencil.

Dominique thank you for your welcome and comment on my DSFDF portrait! I love pomegranates and you've captured their leathery skin perfectly! I look forward to a start of a lasting friendship! hugs...

wow, this is beautiful. I would vote for a background color, as white tends to be harsh and because it's so, well, white, it diminishes the impact of other highlights in a composition. Plus, I love color, and to see you treat it so wonderfully in the foreground, I have no doubt you'll make it sing in the background.

wow I appreciate the vote of confidence. This is sometimes an area I struggle with.
now I know I will put a background but it will be choosing what color and if it will have anything in it is the next step.
Gosh thank you for the feed back it 's helping a lot.
