This is for Edward's book for The Flying Moleskins. His theme is MUSIC. So my piece is about a band with a name I love since trees are involved........ lol
Future of Forestry is a musical group my daughter introduced me to. She brought me to a concert of theirs at Christmas time in San Diego. I was blown away by the sound they had. So different yet powerful, even with the traditional Christmas pieces.
This song is called SLOW YOUR BREATH DOWN from their new CD " Travel III " it is beautiful and will be out in June.
This is a Christian band and they are getting a lot of traction on MTV and other arenas.
I hope you listen to them and enjoy them as much as I do.
I've always loved the Cello but when I saw this one I was blown away.
This instrument I still don't know what it is but the sound it makes is beautiful.
Burst into jubilant song with music. ps 98:4
They are on U-TUBE HERE

Thank you.

Look at that rich background! It just envelops the sound almost...if that makes sense. A great piece for Edward's moleskine!
Ruma2008,
Thank you for your comment I appreciate it.
Autumn Leaves,
You are so sweet. I hope one day to paint how the music makes me feel.
This is fantastic, Dominique - thank you!
Very nice piece, Dominique. I checked out the group and I love their music. The name of their group comes from the title of a C.S.Lewis poem and reflects on his concerns for the environment he wrote about in "That Hideous Strength". Great job!
Love how you utilized the double page spread so artfully. Each piece stands alone beautifully, but together, wow! The dynamic space between them is very powerful. I can almost hear the music.
I first thing I noticed was that you didn't paint the drummer (TJ Hill) who's part in that song is incredible. Both with his kit and the glockenspiel. I'll still be nice though. The lead signer is playing a harmonium.
Anonymous,
I agree with you the drummer is fabulous. The reason for leaving him out was only because of space and I did not have enough time to paint all the instrument that surround him. Thanks for your comment.
R,
Thanks so much, I hope you enjoyed their music too , it so beautiful.
James,
I really appreciate the info on their name and where it comes from. C S Lewis is such a great author.
Edward,
Your welcome. Hope you like their sounds.
