"Prickly Pond"

                                                     8 x 10 Oil on gessoed hardboard
Prickly pond in Warren Vermont has always mesmerized me I truly believe it is a heavenly place and I have the pleasure of visiting there. This is were the famous Prickly Floats of the 4 th of July are made. Go check August post. My daughter was mentioning that this is the spot were she painted the windmill for the Parade. It's a beautiful memory place.

You captured a very spiritual feeling here, Dominique. I love the moodiness of it and you can feel the breezes. Using your imagination is so much more fun than just documenting, don't you think? And I think when you convey your emotion to the viewer, that's art well done.

Thank you Camille you expressed what I feel about this place and yes giving an emotion to a painting is closer to art than just copying it, but sometimes we need to do a few copy job before we explore the feeling with the brush on canvas.....so I'm slowly trying to stretch myself !
