" Miss Kitty "

                                 I was thinking of Sheila when I did this, she posted my blog has having an animal depiction but it was Vern's beautiful portrait of my Grace  she referred too so I decided I needed to draw one of my pet. This is Miss Kitty she is very sweet and gets along very nicely with Grace her dog. It was a good excuse I've been wanting to draw her for a while now.

This building was not easy to paint so I had a bit more fun with the rest.

"GROTTESCA"

                                   Panels I made yesterday. These are old world stencils and techniques used in Europe but have become very popular here in the States. They are applied to cabinets or walls. I did a ceiling with this one with a few other stencils added . It can give quite a striking ambiance to any room. But this one in particular "grottesca" is hand painted on top of the stencil work and glazed to give it this look.

SKETCHCRAWL here in SAN DIEGO



These are the sketches I did for the SKETCHCRAWL here in SAN DIEGO.
It was so much fun meeting a whole new bunch of artist. We had our inspiration from Bazar Del Mundo in Old Town and then went to a lovely lunch were we passed around our sketches and all ooh and aah over them. There are some talented artist here .
We already have a date for next month to meet and sketch. What fun !

21st World Wide SketchCrawl 2009

 This was my first Sketch Crawl, I got the information on Carol Feldman 's blog and wondered if there might be someone doing it here in San Diego.
I found the chapter on facebook and met with 14 other artist in Old Town San Diego at Bazar Del Mundo to sketch and then we had a lovely lunch at Guadalajara Restaurant next door. The food and the company was so good. At the end of our lunch we passed down each of our sketchbook and all OOh and AAh over each one. They were all very lovely. There's some talented people out there.
              I now found a whole new bunch of neat people to sketch around my town with.

" DIFFERENT STROKES FROM DIFFERENT FOLKS Featured in SOUTHWEST ART "





This is the blog I have been participating in for the past 5 months. It is so much fun to do work and wonder how other artist are going to interpret the same image. We might have similar talents but the results are always so different hence the title.

Robbery at an art store !

This is not about art but in a way related.
I was witnessed to a armed robbery yesterday everyone is fine but the interesting thing about it is it happened in a craft store called " Michael's " here in San Diego.
Part of the time after I was smiling and laughing thinking " stick um up I want your paint....or your glidder......or a canvas !
Of course they took the money from the registers... but I'm here shopping for glue and I hear loud voices and a few people on the ground and see a man with a gun, bandana over his face yelling give me the money.
It did not last long and they were gone. I had the presence to draw a sketch (which made me feel good ) for the police which I gave them so I have nothing to post other than this.  :-)
But I still wonder why such a store. So this is a call to artists arm ( no pun intended) yourselves with more paint tubes and pencils you never know when you might need them.
But kidding aside this world is getting more troubled !
Some days are more interesting than others.
Let's count our blessings.

        I hope Rachel likes it I found who she was in the last challenge of the boots. It was nice painting someone so beautiful but I turned her into a blonde.
