" JOY "

                                                            6  x  6       Pen    &    Ink

So here's another doodle to add to the collection. I do enjoy doing these. I came upon this phrase yesterday and needed to post it.

Remember that you can never give another person what you have found, but you can cause him to have a desire for it.      O.Chambers

So I bless you with JOy may you receive all of it.

Hm...if so be the case, than I can say that your drawning certainly causes a "desire" in me to delve deeper into your artistic world.

What strikes me first is the sense of symmetry; I recognize esentially five sections radiating from the central spiral, and they all seem to be heading towards it. It's almost as if the spiral represents the joy, and the objects around it have the "desire" (direction) to move towards it - the "sperm-like (for lack of a better word) entities immediatily around it and to the lower left; the bunches of circles to the lozer right; and the ribbons directly above it. Of couse, that may have nothing to do with what you where going for - that's just me expressing my "joy" :)

I wonder - did you use a protractor on this? I don't know - for me, something like this would strike out the most if the various composites of this piece were as pricisely spaced as possible; I don't have much to really critique with this, but the slightly symmetrical and unaligned - uh, "circle bunches", I guess I'll call them - throw me off just a little bit. But for a doodle, there's probably no need to go through all that trouble. Great job!

Groovy! Love those little Yin's with a touch of Yang...or is it the other way around...and the "bubbles" in the upper left.

First off let me say I really like your long comments they have deeper impact than just a surface one.
I almost posted asking people to tell me what they saw.
One thing about these is when I am doing it I have no idea where I am going. The general object of this is to put patterns of sort. I have started this one with the word JOY and when I was doing it seems like creation / birth was emerging . So I am not surprised to read your comments. I agree with you if it where to become a bigger piece I would use tools to have it looking better but in this case . It's flying by the seats of your pants and seeing what happens . Thank you for stopping by.

Love it!!!
I adore line work, and this is indeed joyous. I can also see it larger and in color. So fun!

LIZ, I'll have to do it in color. Good idea.
