Karin Jurick
9 x 12 Graphite and Watercolor
Well now we can unveil these portraits of Karin Jurick.
118 of us did as a thank you for the formidable work she has done on Different Strokes From Different Folks. The participant of the portrait exchange were contacted by Jill Polsby and the whole set is in a book format set to arrive at her place today.
Go check the different renditions HERE they are all fabulous.
One unfortunate detail is in the book that was created some portraits got a bit cropped mine in the final version the bottom part is missing but it's all good.
BTW this thank you was featured on "Making a Mark" a very good informative blog check it out.

Really nice, Dominique! Love the way you only colored the hair.

Love, love, love the hair - perfect with the graphite! Great job!
Thank you Rosemary
I think you have come across a really nice style, the graphite and watercolor and see (from your blog) you have been exploring... Love it!
I am loving this rendition Dominique! It's uniquely done in your style and I love the minimal palette!
Nice job Dominique, I like the black-white/color combo.
I love the original way you approached this, Dominique. The hair is so beautifully done, too! Great work.
Your portrait of Karin shows her toughness. I like it Dominique.
I always love your watercolor and graphite work...very nice, Dominique!
I love how this came out!
Hi Dominique!
You did a great job on Karin's portrait. I had heard about this tribute somewhere else, but didn't know you sent her a printed version as well, that's a nice detail.
Oh, don't forget to tell me if you ever dream of me ;o) (but I'm not kidding, ok?)
Lots of hugs,
Carolina
I think you really got her facial features, especially the eyes, nose and mouth. Good on ya, girl! I had to keep moving things around with paint, but with graphite you're more likely to have to commit and stay there - you are braver than I!
Very creative to use watercolor hair on graphite portrait, Dominique!
This is fantastic and very creative!
I also wanted to let you know how much your kind comments and prayers have meant - thank-you!
