"GROTTESCA"

Panels I made yesterday. These are old world stencils and techniques used in Europe but have become very popular here in the States. They are applied to cabinets or walls. I did a ceiling with this one with a few other stencils added . It can give quite a striking ambiance to any room. But this one in particular "grottesca" is hand painted on top of the stencil work and glazed to give it this look.

Dominique, these so beautiful. Did you apply them to the ceiling after you painted them?

Vern, actually the one I did on the ceiling was done directly on it. It was a little simpler not so many colors, but it took a long time also. Thanks for stopping by.
I'm almost finished with the DSFDF piece

Wow... I didn't see this the other day when I came to visit your DSFDF piece. *doh*!

I love how you work with vintage stencils because it gives you a connection to the past masters. I looked at the enlarged image and was really impressed. Never been but I would bet it looks exactly like an Italiano maestoso soffitto! [don't I sound like I know what I'm talking about? I love Google translate] HUGS!

hello Dominique,
I love this stencil work; how beautiful. I just went to your website and took a look at everything; how multi-talented you are. By the way, your Jefferson Memorial is fantastic, good to have fun.
Take care.
