Robbery at an art store !

This is not about art but in a way related.
I was witnessed to a armed robbery yesterday everyone is fine but the interesting thing about it is it happened in a craft store called " Michael's " here in San Diego.
Part of the time after I was smiling and laughing thinking " stick um up I want your paint....or your glidder......or a canvas !
Of course they took the money from the registers... but I'm here shopping for glue and I hear loud voices and a few people on the ground and see a man with a gun, bandana over his face yelling give me the money.
It did not last long and they were gone. I had the presence to draw a sketch (which made me feel good ) for the police which I gave them so I have nothing to post other than this.  :-)
But I still wonder why such a store. So this is a call to artists arm ( no pun intended) yourselves with more paint tubes and pencils you never know when you might need them.
But kidding aside this world is getting more troubled !
Some days are more interesting than others.
Let's count our blessings.

YEa, that's the part that made me laugh "at an art and craft store" but yes been helpful with the sketch felt good. But kidding aside because it was at a unusual store is the reason I am concern for all of us. One of them apologized needed the money for his family. We are entering desperate times.

Full of surprises in the art store. Thanks God you are safe.
I was robbed, years ago, at LAX so I know the feeling.

My theory is that the robbers have the preconceived notion that artists and crafters are lovers not fighters. Rather than face the gun under the liquor store counter, why not push aside the woman with the Martha Stewart Card kit and get money from a busy store?

As for your "composite" I'm proud of you gal! I've had several witnesses bring their drawings with them to help me get a more accurate drawing for the Wanted Poster. You should look on San Diego PD website. They are forward thinking enough to maybe post it. My Chief has always thought SDPD was on the leading edge of crime fighting.

Irit, Yes I thank God too, we were all safe.
Yea, arts & crafts store you think it was not the place to have something like this happen but, NOoooo .

Sheila your theory might be right.
I was thinking of you and what you do, I think that is why I did the sketch. Maybe I should see if they are in demand for a sketch artist ? since my work is slow at the moment.

San Diego may have their own sketch artist but I know the smaller Dept. usually don't. Call around. It can't hurt. If you want more info, let me know.
