It's really funny, visiting the Louvre a few weeks ago I took some pictures of a few statues wanting to draw them and lo and behold this is the exercise Karin from DSFDF gives us.
So I was happy to practice.
As I was drawing this piece I started seeing the love between these two in a much deeper fashion then when I first glanced at it, hence the title.

Very beautifully done. I think colored pencil was a very good medium to choose for this challenge.
I have to agree with Irit -- the best so far! This piece has such a feeling of energy flowing all through and around it, and the lines are soooo graceful. I just knew you were going to pull out something really extra special this time, I just knew it!

Dominique! Wow! What iridescence. The glowing parts look like they are coated with mercury. Beautiful color combination. You did an amazing job.
Well, Dominique, at first I was wondering why you posted one of your photos from the Louvre. Then Pokey advised me that it wasn't a photo....Duh. Dee, this is great...may have to run out and get me some colored pencils...and look to your work for inspiration. This one is great!!!
Dominique...Really nice on this one. I thought it was an oil when I first saw it. Good, bold use of color, the green and purple go well together.
Dominique, your drawing really caught my eye! I love the texture of the pencil and especially the beautiful greens and violets together!

THANKS, IRIT : )
What a beautiful drawing this is, Dominique. As the others already mentioned, the combination of colors is just perfect. And, the look between Diana and her "companion" dog is truly touching. Especially knowing how much love dogs give back to us.
P.S. AND, is that a perfect breast or what? If I was "ever" to get mine "lifted" I would bring in a photo of this drawing:)
EPTAS................. ,ha ha, ha, ha, ha...... I did this for ten minutes. OM It's so funny because I did think as I was drawing they looked good.. Question- what's up with all those statues that show all the boobs bare and the rest of the clothes on ????
Thank you for stopping by and making my day .
I had to come back and mention that: "Diana was the perpetual virgin goddess of the hunt."
So, I guess we know what she was hunting for in this scene:D
Have a great weekend, and thanks for the fun!
Except that this was not Diana it's her companion. Karin made the mistake at the beginning and changed it after.
I guess all these statue of girls half naked with good boobs. I guess if your going to sculpt someone it's better be have nice looking body...... and you probably right about the hunt all of them together.
they did not have, photo tells a story, they had ,sculpt and tell ....
This is stunning Dominique!! Took my breath away!
Shelley , Thank you so much
