This is the piece done with the local San Diego Sketchcrawl get together, we meet at Laura's house which was a feast for the eyes. We then ate lunch together and passed around our drawing pads. Good company and good artists makes for a fun time.

Beautiful, beautiful sweep of washes and lines! I love the effect of light on the scene!
What a fun day, and lovely sketch, Dominique. You're lucky to have a group to paint/sketch with. I love Tombow brush pens--gonna break mine out! Is this on bristol or wc paper? Liz
Adebanji, You would off love this house. Thanks for your comment.
Liz, thanks , I did. I have to credit Adebanji for introducing me to Tombow pens. It's in my regular sketch pad Cachet - Daler & Rowney. It's all full of waves now, oh well..
I agree with Adebaji..It is so beautiful and peaceful.
Can I join you on this deck? Just wonder.
Thanks Irit, Hey what are you doing Thursday ? I am going to the Getty with my daughter, maybe there or after we could meet ? e-mail me.
Great composition and sketch Dominique. I really like the wash as well. I just started reading The Shack...good book so far!
Great job well done very inviting.
Vern, :) thank you,.... tell me what you think of the book when your finished, I was part of a book club that meet each week , my gosh did we talk a lot about impressive sentences in there. UNDERLINE them when they are special to you. because you will want to revisit them. Believe me
David, thank you so much , it was a nice place.
Sounds like a lot of fun, Dominique. Great job - makes me want to sit there and relax.
Edward, Thank you, it was a great place.
Great Palm tree action, it's like I never left Mexico. Laura's got a great garden. Beautiful drawing.
Stephen, actually I was thinking of the other palm I did I have a blog called dancing strokes for sketches like that and it's at the top of this one in a vignette to see. But this one was nice too.
Very nice work. I really like the way you are using pen and ink associated with other mediums. Nice feel and it just looks like you are having fun doing them.
God bless and keep it up
Gary, Thank you for stopping by and leaving such a nice comment, I checked your work it's fabulous, I will go back. On this piece I did have fun, it felt so inviting there. God bless you too.

Wow! I'll have to look for a tombow (which means dragonfly in Japanese) pen and experiment with it. Thanks for posting a close up of your faux work. You are so gifted!
Sheila, you will love those pens a bit expensive but with the coupons it should help. Thank for stopping by

I like the shadows on this one...Your sketch club sounds fun!
DEB, Yes it is, you should check out if there is one in the area you live in . it's fun to draw with others.
Sounds like a wonderful day, and you produced a beautiful drawing - the light and shade, and hard and soft edges and lines are quite lyrical.
Thank you Cathy. How nice to come by we did have fun.
Dominique, don't laugh, but this painting reminds me of "Night of the Iguana"! Did you ever see that movie?
It's a very atmospheric painting, nicely done.
Mona, ah hah hahahah it's still funny, No I didn't see that movie if it's a horror one I don't watch them. but I can imagine the feel with the iguanas. Thank you the place did have a great feel to it. : )
