" WE GROW "

                                          8.25   x   11.75          Acrylic

First off let me say how blessed I am.
I don't know if you remember but when I visited my brother in Colorado my daughter lost my camera and her ipod was stolen =( bad time for electronics). But my brother gave me an extra camera he had, Yippe !  2 weeks ago Tiffany left for Thailand  ( see previous post) and I gave her my camera hence no real posting of new items.
Well the others day I received a package from the friend she had visited who found the camera right in time for the deadline of DSFDF. =)
So here is the Pennsylvania Landscape challenge just in time !

I love the warmth of this painting and the sky is so dreamy. I can feel the harvest is ripe and the farm is well lived in.

Wonderful colors in your painting... love the pinks and yellows in the sky, and the rustle of grasses in the foreground... I can hear them growing...

Well, first - the depth of the landscape is lovely; I think I am most impressed with your sky, since your clouds look very fluid, full, and in motion; in a sense, although the general atmosphere of the piece is one of piece, the billowy nature of the clouds and the sense of movement they convey hint at an approaching storm.

The grass in the foreground is positioned very well, and gives the sense that we are standing atop a hill, surveying the land before you. I wonder about the distant background, however; are those bodies of water? If so, than of what kind? It's a little vauge, and touches the horizon in manner that rubs me the wrong way. Still, it's a very lovely piece :).

Riad said...

HI Dominique,very good painting.
Nice atmospher.

Thank you for such a detail comment . About the distance I would say I wanted to convey the feeling that the sky and the land start melting into one. I hope to be able to attain more control in the future of the impression of a creative feel I would like to convey.
I appreciate you coming by.
