" The look "

       5  x  3.5    pencil ,  colored pencil  &  watercolor

Do we lose this look when we grow older ?     Why  ?
If we do,   how can we get it back.
Are you doing anything about it ? or just going along......
                                     Give me your thoughts  <3

Yes I've lost that look, but feel exactly the same. The world is still full of wonders and mysteries for me. :) Dominique, thanks for the card with beautiful artwork!

That look is a look of innocence, innocence gets removed when we all get marred by the inevitable Adamic nature that we are plunged into by our depraved human nature. Only the love of God brings it back, but still it can never be as it was originally till we arrive Heaven!

Hope to see you there with that LOOK!!!!!!!

This is absolutely superb. As the Moody Blues said..."We've forgotten we're all children". We need to remember...or return. The Shack is probably the most moving and compelling book I have ever read. If every one in the world read it, world tension would notch down about 87%...inner tension would almost disappear.

Sorry you've lost it but glad you have the insight to see past the surface of the beauty there is. About the card you're welcome and I hope to win ha! ha!

THanks James, happy to see your strong focus even with humor. About the Shack isn't it incredible and so deep some of those sentences are, you don't even see the bottom of them, but if you persevere Aaaah ! miracle. An incredible book glad you like it.

Ah, I love to see this look in my son's eyes! His wonder reminds me of all the amazing things surrounding us every day. I think a child's awe of the world helps us to see with fresh eyes.

Beautiful job capturing his expression!

KIm, Yes I so agree. They (children) can lead us, seeing things through my daughters eyes when she was young help me to seek more and refocus.
Thanks for stopping by.

Oh! How I love this drawing!!! The look of wonder -- that is the essence of "being like a child." A look I hope never to lose -- even in the loss of innocence.

I pray to see better... and I must be looking, as this child is looking.

Your talent with a pencil is beautiful.

Barb, Thank you . I think us artists have an advantage we do see more than the average person but to go even beyond it is a revelation. We have to be open to it. I'm seeking more of that personally. Thanks for coming by.

Dominique - Sometimes I think we are all too busy (me especially) to stop and smell the flowers and take time to wonder and dream like children.

dominique eichi said...

Maggie, unfortunately that is so true. I wish my focus would be there all the time.

This is so beautiful Dominique!

I would like to think that I still have that look whenever I see a beautiful sunrise or sunset (which is almost every day!)
